It seems unreal that it is already 2009. This year is going to be great. I look forward to being a family of four soon. We celebrated New Year's Eve with our close friends, Damon, Cari, Alexander, Taram, Cindi and 3-week old Chloe.
Now that it is only 2 months before our boy is here, I am trying to enjoy every minute with Siena as our only child. Experiences such as pushing a single stroller with Siena facing me, having to only secure one child in a car seat, the current abundant closet space, etc. These things are all going to change!
I spent the weekend organizing Siena's room and making space for boy stuff. Thanks to my friends who already have boys, our little one seems to be fully stocked with newborn to 3 month clothes. I am trying to prepare and figure out what other necessities I will need for a boy. I definitely need a double stroller and after many month of research I decided to get a Bob Revolution with 12' wheels. I will miss my Bugaboo, however Siena and I defiantly put a lot of mileage on it and enjoyed our long walks together. I am planning on slowly becoming a runner after the baby is born so the kids and I will get good use out of the Bob stroller.
Pregnancy is going great. My belly has grown a lot in the last two weeks. I had a doctor's appointment last week, but the doctor was called into surgery and I was sent home without seeing her. Honestly, everything is going smoothly so I don't know why I even have to go see the doctor. :)

Christmas Week Tuesday, December 23, 2008
Our Little Shamrock experienced his first flight. On Sunday we flew from San Francisco to Eugene, OR. We had a late start Sunday morning so we were one of the few people at the airport to be happy to hear that our flight was delayed an hour. If it was on time we would never had made it. When I went through the security line I was holding Siena as we walked through the metal detector. After walking through, security told me that I had to take off my sweatshirt and Siena's sweatshirt! Stupid. As I removed my sweatshirt, I remarked to myself "as if we are hiding something" and the woman behind me watching then said to me, "yeah, like another baby!" After the sweatshirt was off, my baby bump was very visible :) The woman winked at me and we laughed.
It is beautiful here on the coast of Oregon and we are enjoying time with family. We will even have a white Christmas if you count the ocean breakers 20 feet from the house we are staying in! In the mornings I wake up watching from the cozy bed all the white crashing waves. Siena had fun toddling around with her second cousin Emma yesterday. They are only 1 month apart and very similar. We had a great time watching them play with toys that my cousin and I played with 30 years ago.
With all of the cookies, pies, chocolate, and other goodies that I am eating, I will definitely be packing on more pounds this week. Part of me worries about it, but the part of me enjoying the 4th chocolate covered shortbread cookie says to forget it and enjoy!
We wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
