Creating our registry for our active baby girl!

Brad and I created our baby registry yesterday at Baby's R Us.  It took us 3 hours (we were anticipating spending about an hour there) and we're not even finished yet!    There are so many different brands and versions of each item to choose from.  And since this is our first baby, we aren't real sure what will work for us.  Fortunately we have gotten some valuable input from other mom's about what items they like best.  But, overall, we found the whole registry process a bit overwhelming.  At the same time, we had a lot of fun picking things out for our baby girl and are so excited to meet her and put these items to good use!

Every day our baby girl is getting more active.  Brad is able to feel her moving and kicking now when he puts his hand on my belly.  You can even see my belly move and shake when she is real active.  She is also growing and pushing my belly out more, as several friends and co-workers have commented the last couple days about how much my belly has grown.  And I've gained a good bit of weight too.....I have passed the 150 lbs. mark!    I asked our doctor at our last appointment if I was gaining too much weight.  She said I was right on target and had nothing to worry about.  I still feel huge though.  I haven't been very good about exercising since I found out I was pregnant.  I just haven't been very motivated to work out.  Like most other people, I'm creating a New Year's resolution to exercise more and eat better.  Just because I'm pregnant doesn't mean I can be super lazy and eat a lot of junk (which I've been doing lately).

I have another doctor's appointment tomorrow and will write another entry later this week to tell you how it went.

Merry Christmas!!

Brad and I had a wonderful Christmas in Ohio with his family!  We drove up there last Monday and drove back Sunday.  It was great to see Brad's brother and family, his sister and family, and his parents.  Unfortunately, Brad and his sister came down with the flu on Christmas day, so we were not able to see Brad's grandma and uncle and some other relatives, for fear that they would get sick.  Brad and I had a very relaxing and enjoyable week celebrating baby Jesus' birth.  We took our 4-legged daughter with us (our greyhound, Siena) and she did so well.  She is such a great traveler.  Hopefully our daughter will travel well too, as Brad and I love to hop in the car for a weekend every now and then to visit family or just to get-away for a couple days.

While Brad and I were in Ohio, we started contemplating different baby names.  I think we are changing Renae's name.  I don't want to say anything definite yet, but it is very likely that Renae will be her middle name.  We have come up with a family name for her first name that we like better.  Once we've decided for sure that we are changing her name, I'll write about it in another journal entry.  Until then, I'll just call her "our baby girl".
