Hi everyone. My daughter is coming 4 years and has, in a short time, developed what seems to be asthma. She had an attack in the park playing with her friends, that was when I took her to the doc's and he perscribed a ventolin with an air chamber. She then seems to be weezing in the night and for the first time I have to give her the ventolin, which stopped the breathing problems and weezing instently.... is it normal for asthma to develop in a matter of a week with no previous signs?? Should I seek more help or second opinion?? Are there special doc. for this type of thing?? Times have changed since I was a kid.... I have an appointment with her doc again tomorrow, but hope to hear some personal experience from others. Can anyone offer some?
I have asthma myself, along with many allergies... her father only suffers from hay fever. Thank you!

My daughter has asthma and she uses a nebulizer when she wheezes. She is six and has had asthma since she was 10 months old. It is very scary when she has an attack. I take her to a asthma and lung dr. We have her on flovent daily and albuteral when she wheezes. She gets very sick when she gets a cold. It always end up in her chest.
i also have asthma and allergies. I developed asthma when I was 21 and the dr says you can develop this over night.
