| Why are you asking? Hopefully you aren't planning on breeding the dog if you don't know anything about the heat cycle. Please, if you are considering breeding your dog, think about all the dogs in shelters dying every day. Right now, pit bulls are being killed by the thousands because there are so many people breeding them, thinking they will make money off the puppies. Then, the puppies end up in the pound, because there just aren't enough good homes for them. There are too many pit bulls right now. Not to mention that if your dog isn't papered, health and temperament tested, and under two years of age, you are really hurting your dog, and the entire breed if you choose to breed it. Please, think about them as living, feeling animals and do the right thing. If you are really set on breeding, and you don't care about all the other animals out there suffering, then at least wait until your dog is two years old. This will prevent many complications and possibly save your dog's life. ↑ |

| Well first you have to go to the vet and then the vet performs something called a spay. Then your dog should be good to go. She will probably never go into heat again, but it will solve the problem of another uneducated wannabe "breeder" (backyard breeders as I affectionately call them) bringing puppies into this world. Don't use your dog as a moneymaker, use it as a companion. You will both be happier...and if you breed properly and put all the necessary care into it, you actually lose money. Think about it. ↑ |

| females dont stop bleeding instantly but if you cant control your dogs interaction and you are not educated in breeding practices then you should have them fixed or give them to some one who will care for them properly ↑ |

Go look at how many of these dogs are put to sleep every day because of dumb ass people wanting to make an extra$. This is a breed that is put to sleep in 95% of shelters and not adopted out regardless of age and temperament. This is why a breed ban is being created all over is there are just to many of them with poor owners who think every unstable dog should be bred for size i.e razor edge and gottie and so on these are mutts not APBT's. Let me guess this is your BL? grow up your not a breeder. It takes good money 18-2000.00 to produce a litter a GOOD litter bred to standard in every way. ↑ |
